Shannon is a former University of Oregon Duck and graduate of Southern Oregon University where she earned a B.S. in Human Communication. Shannon began her career at News10 working for the legendary Leon Hunsaker. She quickly moved to the job of Weekend Anchor and then to weekday Anchor and producer.

In August 2000, Shannon moved to WDBJ 7 in Roanoke, Virginia, where she was Weather Anchor and ultimately Co-Anchor for their 6pm newscast.

Shannon likes being outdoors as much as she can in her spare time. She especially enjoys ice skating and kayaking.
