French Onion Soup
1 ½ lbs. sliced white onions
3 oz. butter
5 ½ cups water
2 oz. beef base
1 ½ cups white wine
3 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
¾ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 ¼ tsp. brown sugar
In soup pot on medium heat, sauté onions until browned. Add the rest of ingredients. Bring to simmer and cook for 20 minutes. Top with croutons and fresh grated Parmesan cheese.
